Water Quality

The City's Water Quality Program is made up of two elements:

  1. Cross Connection Control Program
  2. Well Construction/Abandoning Permitting

The cross-connection control element attempts to prevent poisoning and disease by assuring that drinking water supplies are protected against contaminating backflow of hazardous chemicals or infectious materials through cross-connections within premises where the public may be exposed. To protect public health and the environment, the well element prevents groundwater contamination and safety hazards through the regulation of construction, abandonment, and destruction of all types of wells.
