CENSUS

  • Census results help determine how billions of dollars in federal funding flow into states and communities each year. The City of Vernon encourages all of its residents to submit their 2020 Census and make sure each member of your household is counted! Telephone assistance is available in multiple languages.

EDUCATION

The Women in California Leadership Foundation is currently taking applications for The Minerva Scholarship Program. Through this program, the foundation will provide up to 80 one-time scholarships of up to $2,500 and one $10,000 scholarship to select women of promise in order to help them achieve their educational objectives.  In order to be eligible for scholarship consideration students must be enrolled full-time in an accredited college for the 2020-2021 academic year, have a minimum GPA of 2.5 and self-identify as female.  For more information please visit: http://wicl.us/scholarship-program/.

EVENTS

The City of Bell has partnered with the American Red Cross to host a Blood Drive at the Bell Community. American Red Cross staff will set up for the event and maintain distancing standards for volunteers. COVID-19 has created a shortage of blood supplies and the Red Cross is urging individuals to donate blood. Anyone who is interested in donating must schedule an appointment by visiting the http://www.RedCrossBlood.org  and entering sponsor code: COB
