City of Vernon joins F. Gaviña & Sons, Inc. at their 50th Anniversary Open House
The City of Vernon joined F. Gaviña & Sons, Inc. as they kicked off their Open House event in celebration of the company's 50th Anniversary. The event took place on Wednesday, August 16, 2017, at the company's headquarters in Vernon, Ca.
Mayor Melissa Ybarra joined other elected officials in congratulating and recognizing Gaviña on its 50th anniversary, including Senator Ricardo Lara and representatives from the offices of Congresswoman Lucille Roybal-Allard and Supervisor Hilda Solis, as well as Vernon Chamber of Commerce President Marissa Olguin.
"The City is thrilled to be a part of this momentous occasion. After all, Gaviña is a member of the Vernon family" proclaimed Mayor Ybarra. "Vernon Means Business. Our goal is to ensure that businesses can thrive in our City and Gaviña's great success here exemplifies this and our commitment to the success of the companies we serve on a daily basis."
City staff from various departments attended the event in honor of this longtime Vernon company. The Open House included a plant tour, coffee sensory workshop, coffee tasting, and information on Gaviña's sustainability program.
Founded in 1967, F. Gaviña & Sons, Inc. is one of the leading minority-owned and family-run coffee roasters in the country. Having started with a 1,100 square foot facility, the company has expanded to their current 250,000 square foot facility and continues to grow.
